Peter
Block, Principal Architect
Peter
Block, a native of Texas, was born in Dallas in 1959. At the age of 12, he
was exposed to architecture by a family friend and never strayed from his
desire to become an architect.
Peter is a 1982 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin School of
Architecture and is a registered architect in Georgia, North Carolina,
Virginia, Connecticut, Wyoming, and Florida. He is nationally certified
through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a
member of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America.
His experience in design and planning began in Austin, Texas in 1982
where, as an intern architect for Harker Medley & Associates, his joint
work with Charles Harker was published in Designers West, Architecture +
Urbanism, and Austin Homes and Gardens. After 3 years of internship, Peter
worked with Juan Cotera in Austin as the “image designer” for the
buildings of the Capital Metro Transportation Authority Complex, a team
member on the Austin Airport Expansion, and staff architect on various
education complexes. In 1987 Peter moved to Los Angeles, California to
take a senior design position with Vito Cetta Architects, the Randy
Washington Group. By 1989 Peter was director of the design department and
responsible for residences, mid-rises, and communities in California and
Florida.
In 1995, Peter founded Peter Block and Associates Architects, Inc. in
Atlanta, Georgia. Peter leads the office in the design of historically
based residential, equestrian, and multi-family design.
